The Big Secret of the Internet Marketing Gurus
I have taken and am also in the process of taking several online courses from various “Internet Marketing Gurus”. The combination of the information provided is like going to college. It is very useful information and if applied in the right niche, in the right way, can make you money. It just depends on who you want to be your teacher and how much you want to spend.
All these guys try to make you believe that their expertise, their approach, their systems and copy is the best on the market. They begin by offering you great free content, getting you to opt in their list, sending you cool emails, make you a free or $ 1 dollars trial offer, and then attempting to sell you either a course, a membership subscription, a combination of the two and various up sells and down sells. Included in their packages are lots of recorded and transcribed interviews, teleseminars where you can listen to the “religious service” and then ask any questions you like.
The great secret is that they are all about the same and the process goes like this.
You are taken step by step through the process of internet marketing.
1.
If you are completely new to the internet, you are told how to build a website, where and how to get help, how it should be designed, and you are also given advice on how to select a niche market topic and how to build a few initial products to sell.
2. Once you have your website, and products in work, you are escorted into the area of list building, told how this is the lifeblood of internet marketing, and are given detailed instructions on how to build a list, how to build a squeeze page with a great title to get people to join your list, how to say thank you and make sure you get permission to email your new prospects, and then what to do with them.
3.
Now that you have a list, you are taught how to take your products, website, and build an event to get people interested ( or make them raving lunatics for your products, service and personality). You are taught about preeminence, credibility, social proof ( how to get others to endorse you), and you are given great stories about how your teachers have started out from nothing, and worked their way up to millions of dollars in sales and a healthy profit margin to boot.
4. You are taught how to advertise your products and site online by various methods including pay per click, article marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization and how to create partnerships with other internet marketers. You are taught the value of affiliate marketing and joint venture partners.
5. You are now taught how to price your products, how to work with merchant accounts to make sure you collect your money and how to issue polices, guarantees, and other legal documents.
6. You are taught about the value of risk free refunds and that a percentage of people who buy your product will ask for a refund.
7. You are taught how to run th business, how to give your customers real value and how to get them to buy more and more from you. This is all good stuff and makes the courses worthwhile.
The problem is, all the internet gurus are pretty much the same. They all work together to build their businesses ( which is kind of neat and different from any other industry I have been in), and constantly tell you ( each and every one of them ) that they are the best, the biggest, the most profitable, and have the keys to the kingdom of riches and success.
The tough part is to decide who you want to learn from, how much you want to spend, how hard you want to work to build your business and whether or not you have the resources to start from scratch and take the time and effort to make an internet business a full time occupation.
The secret is “that there is no secret”. Its just a matter of who you think is the best teacher, who you enjoy working with, how hard you want to work, and how much you want to invest to learn about the same information.
