People sometimes wonder why there are so many highly educated individuals who fail to find success with Internet marketing. At the root of this question is an assumption that’s not entirely valid — and I think it’s important that we distinguish between people who are highly educated as it relates to the Internet marketing industry and those who simply are generally smart. People who know a lot about the Internet marketing industry and who fail to find success typically suffer from not having clearly defined goals and a regimented work schedule. People who are generally smart and are brand-new to Internet marketing cannot be lumped into the same category as people who have all the answers but who are essentially poverty-stricken Internet marketing forum dwellers.

If you’re brand-new to online marketing you really need to take the time to develop a clear goal of what you hope to accomplish.

Try to make this goal as specific as possible. In other words, if you want to make a lot of money specify how much money one make and how quickly you want to make it. Then, spend some time developing a daily schedule. I know, I know, this probably feels a little bit like work. But trust me, you don’t want to be like those other people who know everything about this business yet spend all their time sucking their thumbs and message forums. Here’s the bottom line: if you’re smart, and get yourself a game plan that includes a clearly defined goal in a daily schedule designed to help move you incrementally closer to reaching your goal.

Hot “news” like this can be found any hour of the day online… as one “insider” story after another, each more scintillating, titillating, and scurrilous than the last catches fire online and captures your attention.

Problem is, every single one of these “hot insider facts” is not only wrong, but is deliberately invented (like the ones above) to suit the purposefully invidious and always selfish and self-serving purposes of the poster.

The question is: why are so many people all over the world perverting the Internet by posting deliberately erroneous, always hurtful, and completely false “information”?

Let’s take a look…

Maladjusted kids with too much time and Internet savvy

Did you ever make a prank telephone call when you were in grammar school? I did… and I suspect most of you did too. Now, however, the pranks are not directed at one person, but at millions. And the Internet is so configured that one maladjusted kid sitting in his basement in Kalamazoo can (within minutes) prank the whole world. To pimple-faced Johnny who’s a wash-out with the chicks, this is a thrill that just won’t quit. Unfortunately, the viruses he invents and disseminates, the misinformation he circulates are very real and cause, as he wanted, maximum dislocation and harm. He’s the man!

With malice towards all and charity towards none (pace Abe Lincoln)

We live in the era of the empowered haters where daily people as psychotic as Hitler and as malevolent as Stalin take center stage. These people are hooligans on speed. Shunned themselves, they are determined that the successful of the world shall answer to them….or else. In the “real” world, such creatures have limited influence even if they turn into uni bombers, stalkers, and those who (with cunning and skill) reduce their own pain by inflicting it on the great of the land… or merely on an unfortunate soul who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now the socially inept and clinically dangerous have scope for their inadequacies.

For such people the Internet is a dream come true…. because now, without leaving their homes, they can hurt, really hurt, brutally hurt people who have neither heard of them… nor offered so much as an offending word. The empowered hooligan doesn’t care… to hurt is his objective and if he determines to hurt… he has no need whatsoever to justify the heinous act. He hurts, therefore he is.

Misinformation as pay back

Got into an argument with your brother-in-law lately? Got cut off on the turn pike and wrote down the license plate number? Chastised by your boss in front of your colleagues (never mind that he was right). Got blown off by the waitress you made a pass at? You want pay-back, and you want it NOW!

Voila! The Internet’s at hand. Post! Publish! Hurt them… feel vindicated, powerful, happy. Such commentary, posted by the vengeful daily, floods the Internet. These comments are invariably abusive, misspelled…and anonymous. You want to hurt the boss all right… you want to show that girl to be sure… but hold the name with the mayo. Cut them down to size… but never,ever tell them who you actually are. Hurt and hide, the coward’s formula through history.

“Expose” your competitors by riding in on your white horse

This is a biggie. In business? Got successful competitors? In a hurry for success? Then use the Internet to besmirch your competitors. Make up “confidential” information about them. Pose as the readers’ friend… let them in on the “secret” about your competition. What matter that every word you post is made up…. when YOU can benefit from the lie. Paint with broad strokes: use innuendo, suggestion, go for the big lie. Poor as you are, hiding behind email and anonymity, you have license to prevaricate.

This format is used regularly by people in a hurry, by the corner cutters, the self-appointed “truth tellers”, and by people with an axe to grind. They know that online they can not only appear to be virtuous but ride to the top of the search engines on the coat tails of their well-known competitors. Such messages are a magnet for the gullible and the credulous, for people whose “business” is to manipulate the lazy and uniformed from whom they conjure money without compunction — and then disappear, the privilege of the harlot throughout the ages.

Bait and switch

Back in the good old days of mail order there was a famous ad that ran

Now that I’ve got your attention, let me tell you about our terrific air conditioners.

A variety of this ad is launched daily on the net which is why ads like the one with Hillary Clinton above are created. Sex, as every marketer knows, sells. And the more licentious and lubricious the better, no matter than the message is false from start to end.

Reader Beware!

Today you will be the recipient of online lies, smut, and vulgarity. That is why today you must be chary and cautious about what you choose to believe and the judgements you make.

* Ask yourself whether what you are reading is likely. If the claim is outrageous and exaggerated, it is unlikely to be true.

* Is the claim signed? Is someone willing to take responsibility? If not, it is hearsay and rumor in which case who is benefiting from it?

* Has the person attacked been given the chance to respond… or is the claim advanced by one person who attacks… but will not let his victim respond? Fairness is never in the repertoire of the irresponsible.

* Is there a clear beneficiary for what is being written? Is this person assailing because they will benefit thereby? Below the surface of seeming honesty, there is always avarice.

* If the claim is attributed, does that person have anything to lose? Established persons and institutions are responsible at least in part because they have much to lose by being irresponsible. Those with nothing to lose can make the most irresponsible claims with impunity… and so they do. That they do is a sure sign of their insignificance and unaccountability.

Consider the source

When I was growing up in Illinois in the ‘forties, my father had an expression: “Consider the source.” When some comment or rumor reached us, he’d say these words. I now think of them often as I, like you, receive the filth and lies deliberately disseminated by those who may be Internet savvy but are bankrupt in all other ways. My advice to you is to ignore, beware, and in all cases consider who is benefiting from the lies, misrepresentations, and fabrications before us. When they cannot touch us, the perpetrators y shrivel and die, fulminating still but powerless and pathetic.

Many people are lure into Internet Marketing because of the many money making opportunities that it can offer. No doubt such online business ideas do exist but one should not jump into the first available opportunity as many marketers will temp you that creating wealth online is just a breeze.

But is making money online as easy as so many people claim it to be? The simple answer is Yes and No. If you are a complete newbie the answer is a definitely “NO”.

If you are a new kid on the block it won’t be an easy task to rake in the money fast. Internet Marketing, unfortunately, is a long learning curve. Initially you may need to put in some significant amount of effort and time before you are able to achieve any success.

Statistics have shown that 95% of people who started in Internet Marketing FAIL! There are many reasons for this high failure rate. These few are the commonly cited reasons:

1) Get rich scheme. Having the mindset that Internet Marketing is a scheme that can make you rich overnight. It doesn’t exist. Anyone claiming to say it does is a LIAR.Most people just come in for a short period of time and expecting no results will just quit, because of their failure to understand how the industry works. That’s why most of them don’t succeed.

2) Lack of Focus. The formula to succeed in online business is very simple, but not easy. When you follow the step by step guidelines as required by the developer of the program you will bound to succeed.Unfortunately people tend to lose directions along the way and start to look for the magic button to quick start their plan. They search for new offers hoping to find the right formula. If that sounds like you, stop immediately before you bust your credit cards limit. Most internet marketing products are similar, they just use different names to tell the same stories. Stick to one, work on it and you are bound to find your pot of gold.

3) Failure to take action. Simply put, No Action = No Result.Many people expect that when they subscribe to an online program they just need to download the software and the system is on autopilot. How wrong can that be! If you have that mentality failure is the only option.

Seeing so many people fail may have a negative impact on your decision to venture into the Internet Marketing arena. But on the positive side when you learn from other people failure you increase your own chances of success.

Now our next section is what we call the Freebie funnel. So basically our Freebie funnel is comes after our search stream reads our traffic triggers, they click on the link to our site we are going to be brought to a squeeze page which basically has written copy on it. This is where our search stream will read about what we are giving them for free. We persuade them to enter their email address to receive the freebie, they will asses a cost base analysis, They will ask themselves… Is this really worth enough to give my email or contact information. If they enter their information the squeeze page has done its job, traffic trigger have done the job.

Now this freebie could be anything from a special report, exclusive video, maybe some free software that’s going to help them get some more information, or we are helping solve a problem, or they are going to learn something new from whatever information they are looking for. Now in this freebie industry people like to call it the bait or list bait, A friend of mine, Sterling Valentine likes to call this process “Tease and Squeeze” which is basically what we are doing on this page in creating freebie for the contact information.

So once the search stream has entered their contact information, they are accepting and becoming a member of our list which is the most important sale of our blueprint. So basically, we are in the list building phase. List building is a pre-sale which is very critical to the whole outline and blueprint. If you are sending people straight to your sales page, you are missing the list building section. If you send someone as a referral to a sale page and they decide not to buy that day then we have lost that potential customer or person from our list basically forever. And if we send them directly to the product creator’s sales page where they have an email capture and squeeze page, basically we are becoming a list building expert for somebody else and now we no longer have access to them and can’t continue to market to them. When there is a list we can market them forever as long as they are on our list and that is our primary goal here.

Hi there and welcome, I want to show you the internet marketing blueprint that I know is the quickest way proven to turn people on the internet into customers. Now the first stage of our Internet marketing blueprint is what we like to call the Search Stream.

Search Stream is the steady flow of people looking for information about a particular topic or product online. We also know that there are people on the internet every hour of every day looking for information on search topics and different products. Now what we want to focus on is to make sure that our search term is focused on a profitable niche or subject. Now to determine if the search stream is a profitable subject or not, ask yourself.

* If they are willing to spend money on the information * Is there a strong need for this type of information or products * Does this solve some sort of problem * Is there competition in the market place?

I feel that competition is a good thing, sometimes people say that competition is a bad thing, but I think it is going to help us to determine whether it is of a profitable niche or not. As long as the market isn’t saturated too much, we should be able to make profits from this. Research will help us to ensure that it is profitable.

The next section of our Internet marketing blueprint will be called Traffic Triggers.

Traffic triggers are basically anything that you can create to catch attention of the search stream or anybody that’s online. Basically traffic triggers leave breadcrumbs all over the internet with our keyword search terms, which our Search Stream is looking for.

Now these could be articles, blog posts, videos, reports, blog comments, all the same things that we normally do to generate traffic. We need to be very focused on what our search stream is looking for. Now by creating these traffic triggers we will be providing good quality information, which our search stream is looking for. We can persuade them to visit our site to get involved in our lust to gain valuable freedom which we will talk about in a second. Now we will talk about our first sale which is not generally around the product.

What our first sale is going do for us is it is going to start to establish a relationship. By doing this we are going to use a certain point. It is FYI/BTW. So basically when we create our content our former will be the FYI which will be 90% content information and the BTW which is almost like a sales pitch, will give about 10%. So when we talk about FYI examples are “Top 10 sales secrets”, “Are you making these mistakes?”, and we’re going to generate our content around that to create good quality information. When we get to the BTW section we will put something like “If you would like to know more information click here”, and that is what is going to drive traffic to our site. That is traffic triggers.

Another great sponsoring tip is to sort, not sell. What I mean is instead of trying to sell everyone your products, or trying to sell them on the opportunity, just sort through and find people who wants to buy your products and join you in your MLM business.

If they don’t want to consume the products or if they’re asking how much you’re making, just let them go. Don’t try selling them.

When you’re able to sort, you’ll notice that people you’re adding to your MLM business are just like you. You’ll be different in some ways, but overall, you’re all striding for basically the same goals. This will allow you to attract and sponsor dozens of people into your business who are just like you.

Building a network marketing business can be a rewarding way to make income, and dramatically change your life. One key to success, is knowing WHO to work with, and WHO to let go. When you know how to disqualify your prospects with respect and dignity, then it frees you up to find people who are really ready to go.

What Does Disqualifying Mean?

Qualifying and Disqualifying are sales terms that help you determine who should get more of your time. You can spend your time with anyone, but if you want to build a business that makes money, you have to focus your effort on people who qualify for more of your time. Itâ??s not that your prospects arenâ??t people, or that they donâ??t have value. Itâ??s just that as a leader who is moving forward, you need to figure out who deserves your time the most, and you need to spend your time there.

When Should I Disqualify People?

This question is tough, but the answer is you want to disqualify people as soon as itâ??s apparent that they are not moving forward. A doctorâ??s advice is only good, if the patient uses it. When you are working with someone who says they want to be successful at home, give them a task. Tell them to go to a website, or listen to a DVD, and then set a follow up appointment with them. If they havenâ??t done what they said they would do. I would give them maybe one more chance. If they fail to take action again, then I would consider them disqualified, and I would probably tell them.

How Do You Disqualify People?

You should always treat people with dignity and respect. So with that in mind, here is how I would actually let someone go. I would say something like â??Jim, It sounds to me like you may be interested, but it seems like this is not the right timing for you. I appreciate your time and courtesy though. Do you have any questions for me before I goâ??

Iâ??m not being rude, but I am letting Jim know that Iâ??m serious about moving forward and that Iâ??m not going to chase him. When you have that kind of attitude, it will let people know youâ??re serious. It will also actually help some of your people decide to get busy.

When some people hear that, they will ask you for another chance, and then they will actually follow through. Other people will breathe a sigh of relief because they werenâ??t really interested anyway. They were just being nice. Believe me, you donâ??t want to spend 20 hours with someone whoâ??s just being nice. If they arenâ??t interested, you want to know that sooner than later.
