The size of your income is directly proportional to the size of your list. To be really successful in this business, you need a large and responsive list. But how do you grow your list quickly and effectively with the right kind of subscribers?

I’ve found that the most attractive enticement is a free ebook. It is important to target your give away so that you attract the right people. It would not make sense to offer a free weight loss ebook if your site is about fishing. You may gather a fair number of subscribers due to the subject matter, but they would quickly unsubscribe and you would sell very little fishing products to them. My niche is Internet marketing so I give away a free Internet marketing book entitled, ‘Make Money Every Day’.

Your free gift should be something of value that your potential customers will enjoy. It should be a gift that entices potential customers to join your list. Use your offer to attract subscribers.

If you use a confirmed opt-in system, do not provide the free gift until after the subscriber validates their subscription. When I first started out, I gave potential subscribers the download link along with the validation email. Unfortunately, many people downloaded the freebie, and neglected to confirm their subscription. I was left with an awful lot of unconfirmed subscribers. But I learned from that. Do not provide them with your Internet marketing book until AFTER they complete the subscription process.

Some list builders fill their ebooks with affiliate links. I prefer not to do that. I like to provide my subscribers with good info and no ads. If they like what I write, there will be plenty of time later for them to buy my products. But, that is just my personal preference.

Let me close by repeating the most effective give away I’ve found is an Internet marketing book. It has provided much faster list building results than anything I’ve tried. If you are not happy with your list building efforts, try an ebook; I think you will like the results.

The sales pitch went something like “make $ 10,000 a month with little or no effort.” The sales page made a big deal out of the fact that their 80-year-old Grandfather used the techniques in this ebook and is making money hand over fist. It turned out that the book touted the use of Adsense to make money. And, unfortunately, the sales page didn’t mention the fact that you need a website getting thousands of hits each day to make that kind of money. Needless to say, I unsubscribed from their list rather quickly.

The real key to success in this, or any business is to give your customers something of value. The charlatans will quickly be exposed and will soon be out of business. Always give our customers more than they expect. By doing this, your subscribers will stay with you for a very long time and will reward you by buying the products that you recommend time and again.

I provide a free Internet marketing book to people who subscribe to my list. I have found that providing a high quality product is the best way to attract (and keep) subscribers.

If you’ve been trying to make money on the Internet for any length of time, you’ve heard it a hundred times; the money is in your list. A good list can earn you about a dollar (or more) for each subscriber EVERY MONTH! If you are just starting out, you can easily generate 200 to 300 subscribers per month.

There are many methods that you can use to quickly grow your list. I’ve found it very effective to give new subscribers an Internet marketing book. (Internet marketing is a very large category that encompasses a number of Internet related topics.)

Using this technique, my Internet marketing book, entitled, ‘Make Money Every Day’ adds 300 to 400 subscribers to my list each month. When you consider that each subscriber is worth about $ 12 per year, the numbers can add up rather quickly.

To build your list, use a squeeze page that is designed to do one thing, get the name and email address of your visitor. You do this buy offering them something of value in exchange for their contact information. It can be a free Internet marketing book, or ebook, a subscription to your newsletter, or anything else your visitors may be interested in. The important thing is that your giveaway item is valuable enough to entice them to sign up to receive it. Following are a number of techniques that you can use to expand your list (as well as your income).

1. Google Adwords. This is one of the fastest methods to build a targeted list. It is important to choose very targeted keywords and never bid more than you can afford. Once you have set up your ad it can begin to appear within hours and start bringing you traffic shortly thereafter.

2. Write articles. Submit articles to the large article directories. Make sure each one contains a resource box where you will include a link advertising your squeeze page and the freebie visitors will receive. This works best if you submit at least one article per day.

3. Post regularly on forums. On each of your posts, include a signature file that includes your squeeze page and the free giveaway that you are offering.

4. Classified ads. Use free and/or paid ads to entice traffic to your squeeze page.

5. Blogs. If you have a blog, add an advertisement and a sign up form to your blog.

6. Trade ads. Trade ads with other websites. You place their ad on your site and they place your ad on theirs. This ad swap is done for free of course.

Remember, in order for this to work, you must give your visitors something of value. I generate almost 400 subscriptions per month using a free Internet marketing book. Develop a give away that is specifically targeted to the interests of your visitors and watch your subscription rates soar.

The best way to earn consistent money through your online business is with a good list. To ensure your future success, you should focus all of your efforts on building the size of your list. You should offer something of value to those who subscribe to your list. I offer an Internet marketing book to subscribers and it works extremely well. For a while, I was offering a master resell rights package to entice visitors to subscribe. I was pretty happy with the numbers as about 16% of the visitors to my site subscribed to my list. It is important to focus all of your marketing efforts toward building your list. Many experts say that you should link some of your traffic to a product that you are selling. I disagree. So you can see, it is important to build your list as quickly as possible.

In addition to a great Internet marketing book, you’ve got to have a quality squeeze page. Your squeeze page is designed to do one thing, get the name and email address of your visitor. Do not place ads or any other diversions on your squeeze page. You want 100% of your prospects attention focused on subscribing. Do not give them an opportunity to click away to another product or site. Make your Internet marketing book (or whatever you offer) so compelling, they almost have to subscribe.
